About this role
United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is an open-cut coal mine located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. UWJV is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and MEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody). The Opportunity UWJV commenced operation in 2020 and we are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of run of mine (ROM) thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until 2042. In 2022, UWJV was awarded NSW Mining 'Operation of the Year' Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, the Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.…
