About this role
About Chronological ageing is a biological process that results in accumulated cellular damage, ultimately driving the onset of metabolic disfunction. We aim to develop new therapeutic approaches to these ageing-associated diseases, by targeting metabolism in cancer stem cells (CSCs) and senescent fibroblasts. More specifically, we will screen a series of chemical libraries containing FDA-approved drugs, natural products, and novel chemical entities, to identify compounds that can effectively age-associated metabolic features. Through this screening and validation approach, we will identify compounds that preferentially kill CSCs and senescent fibroblasts, using established cell lines.…
