About Anglo American, en sociedad con la Corporación Mitsubishi, está desarrollando la operación minera Quellaveco, uno de los yacimientos de cobre más grandes del mundo, localizado en la región de Moquegua, al sur del Perú. Quellaveco tendrá una vida de reservas de 30 años. Utilizará proceso minero de tajo abierto y flotación para producir concentrados de cobre, así como molibdeno y plata como subproductos. Se espera que Quellaveco produzca en promedio 300 mil toneladas de cobre por año en sus primeros 10 años de operación.
